Symposium/Dinner – Kalif Shrine Center, 145 W Loucks, Sheridan, WY

5:30 PM Social Hour
6:30 PM Dinner (Call 307-684-7629 to make reservations)
7:15 PM Program: Jack McDermott and Sequoia Crosswhite
  “Red Cloud’s War” – Military Historian
Jack McDermott and Lakota Historian Sequoia

Crosswhite will discuss the events along the Bozeman Trail, Red Cloud’s role, and the long term effects of the conflict.

Saturday, June 18
$2.00/person or $5.00/car gate fee.  Children 12 and under free

8:30 AM Flag Raising, Living History camp open
9:00 -10:00 AM Infantry Demonstration 
10:00 AM -12:00 NOON Tour:  Fort area, Quartermaster corral, outlying locations
12:00 NOON -1:00 PM Lunch-the Burger Wagon will be on site
1:30 - 3:00 PM

Sequoia Crosswhite:  Native American dance and flute program.  Demonstration and discussion of Lakota cultural traditions.

3:00 - 4:00 PM Artillery Demonstration
4:00 - 5:00 PM

Living History Demonstrations

Sunday, June 19

ANNUAL WAGON BOX FIGHT TOUR

Beginning at 7:00 PM, there will be an historical presentation, weapons demonstration, and guided tour of the Wagon Box Site, including the rarely visited Wishart defensive site.  The tour will last approximately two hours.  Participants should meet at the Wagon Box Site at approximately 6:45 PM.  Please inquire at the contacts listed in the above section for further information and updates.

Contacts and Location

     Fort Phil Kearny is located between Sheridan and Buffalo.  It can be reached by taking exit 44 of Interstate 90 and following the brown and white historic directional signing.  The site is open 8 to 6 Daily May 15 – Sept 30.


Fort Phil Kearny Interpretive Center Summer Hours

     Fort Phil Kearny Interpretive Center summer hours begin May 15.  The Intepretive Center will be open 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily until September 30.  Please call 307-684-7629 for information or assistance.
